Day 7 - Caminha, Portugal to Oia, Spain

Today is a day of milestones. We are half way completing 7 days of our planned 14-day walk. We have moved from Portugal into Spain, now greeting 'Buen Camino' instead of 'Bom Caminho'. We have also done with our automobile, plane, train, metro, boat and now will rely on our two feet, and two poles, to finish our camino.

The boat portion came this morning when we took a ferry, or water taxi I am not sure, from Caminha to A Pasaxe towards A Guarda and at the same time, crossing into Spain. We took the first ferry with 10 to 12 other passengers without incident. The sea was angry in the ocean but our passage was entirely in the cove and it was all calm.

We booked and paid ahead with Xacobeo Transfer. Everything went fine. They actually felt the need to send out a warning message last night saying that their competitors may lie to us (passengers) saying they are not operational. Apparently, they send this out to all their passengers. That sounds serious.

After a bit of rain, the weather turned nice for most of the day but has always threatened rain so some of us ending up with sunglass, sun hat and poncho on all at the same time. Our luck eventually ran out. After needing most of the day to dry up from the morning rain, it started pouring 10 min from our destination and we were drenched arriving at the albergue.

I was hoping for the milestone of leaving the rain behind us but no such luck. Tomorrow will be another wet day.
